Rushmore Reviews: enabling Operators to 'Benchmark with the Best'
Over 25,000 offset wells drilled or completed by 160 Operators in 70 countries
Rushmore Reviews online
Hello,

I’m very excited about our forthcoming PDO-hosted Seminar in Muscat. We have had considerable interest recently from Operators in the region who do not currently participate and hope that this event will both encourage an increase in participation as well as help our existing participants get even more value from the data.

If you have been searching for global offset drilling data on our website recently you will have noticed the enhanced search options. We are also applying these to the completions data and, along with other enhancements currently under development, you will soon have total control of your search results to the extent of being able to include or exclude individual wells.

I’m pleased to let you know that we have started to receive contracts from the sponsoring group of Operators for the Well Abandonment Performance Review (APR). Once that process is complete we will start to market this exciting new study more widely. If you would like more information on sharing permanent well abandonment technical, time and cost data please email me.

Places on the annual participant meetings which take place in November are being taken up at an increasing pace and we are in the process of firming up a number of potential Operator presentations. Numbers are limited so if you would like to attend please do let us know as soon as possible.

Since the last annual meeting we have invested significant time and energy to improve and finalise the Drilling Time Estimation (DTE) facility and also the Rushmore Drilling Index (RDI) and have just completed the addition of land wells to both of these tools.

The enhanced versions of both will be revealed at our meeting in November.

Best wishes

Middle East Seminar
A seminar on the topic of “Best Practices in the Benchmarking of Drilling and Completions” will be held in Muscat, Oman on 13th October.

Hosted by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) the seminar will explore how Operators can best use global benchmark data to drive performance improvement as well as support a number of key planning and performance management activities.

Peter Rushmore will present a selection of ‘real life’ case studies that have been provided by Operators at the annual participant meetings as well as survey the comparative performance data available and the tools provided for its analysis.

Joanne van de Velden of PDO will present "The role of benchmark data in PDO performance improvement achievements" and other Operator presentations are being confirmed.

Helen and Peter Rushmore will also be available for individual meetings on the 12th and 14th October.

This is an excellent opportunity for people in participating companies to learn more about how they might maximise the benefits of their participation and also for staff of Operators who do not current participate in global drilling and completions benchmarking studies to learn how they could benefit from doing so.

The seminar is open to staff of Operating companies and is free of change.

Annual Participant Meetings
This years meetings are being held between Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th November at the Marcliffe at Pitfodels Hotel in Aberdeen.

The first day allows participants to share information on how they use the data to help improve performance and for other applications. We will also review the enhancements to the Drilling Time Estimation (DTE) tool and the Rushmore Drilling Index (RDI) which enables the normalisation of drilling difficulty.

A traditional Scottish evening Reception and Dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday 11th at Castle Fraser (pictured), a wonderful grand baronial castle dating from the 16th century.

If you would like to share how you have gained value or improved performance as a result of utilising the studies please do contact Helen.

The second day will agree proposals (posted on the website forum) to changes to the rules of participation and the DPR. The third day will consider proposals for change to the CPR and the Abandonment Performance Review.

As usual we would suggest that you book your rooms at the Marcliffe as soon as possible quoting the “Rushmore Conference” in order to obtain a discounted rate. You can contact the hotel on + 44 (0) 1224 861000 or via their website at www.marcliffe.com

Data Input Training
There are a couple of places left on the DPR and CPR Data Input Training Courses being run in Aberdeen on the 23rd to 25th September.

For more details please email Beryl or call her on +44 (0)1224 251061.

This training is specifically for those people responsible for inputting the data into the workbooks. Although a short session is provided on website navigation and charting facilities it is not a course on how to analyse data.

Landmark, IDS and Peloton
We are pleased to report that IDS, Landmark and Peloton continue to actively develop and refine their data extraction routines for the DPR and CPR.
