Welcome
to the second edition of our online newsletter.
The aim of this newsletter is to keep you up-dated with news and case studies
that explore the ways in which participants are using the Reviews. We all
share the common goal of improving drilling and completions performance,
and there are many ways in which participation in the Reviews can help achieve
this goal.
There were some excellent case studies presented at our last 'Best Practices in Benchmarking Drilling and Completions' meeting which you can access here.
We
enjoyed meeting many of our regular participants at the recent SPE conference
in Amsterdam and
are looking forward to visiting
with current and prospective participants
in Houston and Dallas during the first week of March.
2005
promises to be an exciting year for the Rushmore Reviews with a move to larger
offices in Aberdeen,
the recruitment of more staff and the up-grading of our website to provide
for a single searchable database for all 2000 and later data.
If
there is anything in particular you would like us to cover in our
next newsletter please do let us know by clicking here.
Helen and the Team.
If you have been to the participants website recently you will have noticed a significant improvement in its appearance as well as a number of useful new features.
The most obvious new feature, the ‘performance metrics box’,
was developed from an original shown by Sonia Element of BP at a ‘Best
Practices’ meeting. The box (below) displays, for the wells you have
selected the minimum, maximum, quartile, P10 and P90 values for feet/metres
per day, cost per foot/metre, cost/day, days/10k feet, percentage IT (NPT)
and percentage waiting on weather.

The details of the data to be shared and the ‘rules’ of participation in this new Review will be established at a meeting in Aberdeen on 10th March. We are expecting completions and production technology specialists from BHP, BG, BP, Britannia, ChevronTexaco, Shell, and Total to attend.
For more details please click here. If you would like to attend, or otherwise contribute, please email me.
